Description of Lithium Ion Batteries
|
- 2nd generation battery which contains no metal in its chemistry.
- Rechargeable electrochemical cell or battery.
- No metallic Lithium in either the positive or negative electrodes, unlike in car batteries or Lithium Metal Hydride Cell.
- Hence, no chemical reaction and hydrogen release can occur.
- Only left to manage the solvent (anode from the electrodes) when cell is opened.
